Last weekend was a busy Bank Holiday for me with a day trip to Southport, a triathlon on Sunday and a Brompton tour of Merseyside to see the Three Queens!
The day out in Liverpool was undoubtedly one of the highlights of the year. This was a rare chance to see the three Cunard liners make a return to their spiritual home in front of thousands of spectators along the Mersey.
Taking the Brompton was a wise move as it meant I could zip around the Wirral, fold it up in busy places and use it to ride to Kirkby to avoid the crowds queuing for trains from Lime Street!
First Brompton experience and really satisfied. I needed a bike to cycle all over London for 3 days as I was visiting the city to look for a flat. It was convenient, cheap, the bike was excellent, I had a fantastic ride! Convinced me to get one for myself to be able to go really everywhere.
Thank you Brompton
This is my second Brompton bike, my first precious Brompton bike was stolen! How dare they! And so I was without a bike. Many people, non-cyclists non-Brompton owners said, ’oh well’ get yourself an Oyster card. I forgive them, they know not what they do. I hired a Brompton whilst I waited for my new bike to arrive. I was thrilled that such a service existed. I must say that the cost is extremely competitive in relation to the Boris Barclay rip off bike. The charge per day for a Brompton hire bike is a mere £2.50, less than a latte! Boris bikes are £2.00 per half an hour. In fact to hire a Boris bike per day is £96.00, so clearly there was no choice between the two, I have paid less for almost 6 weeks hire. My new Brompton is here at last, a picture of joy in classic racing green with a black ‘O’ bag, which has a huge interior and is totally waterproof, Dynamo lights which can be switched off if need be. It is an intuitive ride, easy to manoeuvre, despite the smaller wheel size, can be folded literally in seconds, it takes me just 12 seconds to fold and unfold. With the carrier block the ‘O’ bag is super easy to add and remove and looks stylish but is utterly functional, which is of course important. But the truth of it is, the Brompton is a classic. I chose a Brompton again because it is simply a far superior bike. I look forward to cycling with it, in a way I didn’t know before becoming a cyclist was possible. I know I will ALWAYS own a Brompton. Yes they’re at the top end of the market but thinking of the wealth of benefits to it and the sheer joy each time I ride, its totally worth it. Many thanks for excellent customer service all round too.
